England Pacer Emily Arlott has been ruled out of the upcoming one-off Test against South Africa Women due to the after-effects of COVID𝕴-19. Reportedly, Arlott is still getting over the virus and has left the camp༺ to return home.
Uncapped speedster Issy Wong, who was named as the Travelling reserve by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) while announcing the squad earlier this week, has replaced Arlott in the squad. It is expected that alongside Wong, fellow bowlers Freya Davies and Lauren Bell, batter Emma Lamb and all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards cꦡould all make their Test 𝕴debut against the Proteas.
Notably, the one-off Test between the two nations that starts from June 27 will be played at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. After the red-ball battle, England and South Africa will lock horns in the white-ball series, consisting of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 Internationꦕals (T20I𝄹s).
