In match 48 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Punjab Kings (PBKS) comfortably defeated 🔜Gujarat Titan𒁃s (GT) by eight wickets on Tuesday.
Chasing the paltry target of 144, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa took the game away from PBKS by forming a crucial 87-run stand for the second wicket. Rajapaksa was outdone by Lockie Ferguson for 40, but Dhawan kept his end alive and smashed another half-cent🍒ury of the season.
Dhawan stayed undefeated on 62 off 53 balls with the help of nine boundaries. Liam Livingstone played a quickfire 10-ball 30 run knock as PBKS successfully chased down the target with four over♉s to spare and eight wicket♔s in hand.
Earlier, an excellent bowling display by PBKS helped them restrict Gujarat at a below-par score of 143/8 in 20 overs. Pacer Kagiso Rabada picked up a brilliant four-wicket 🍸haul 𒈔for 33 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Youngster Sai Sudharsan was the only batter who was able to stand tall against a quality bowling attack of PBKS. Sudharsan remained unbeaten at 65 from 50 deliveries, including five fours and a 🤡six.
