Netherlands head coach and former Australia ODI wicketkeeper Ryan Campbell is fighting for life in a 🅺London hospital after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.
The 50-year-old was at a playground with hiꦇs children before collap♏sing.
“I have some very sad news that I need to share with you this morning and it concerns one of our favourite cricketing sons, former WA and Australian cricketer Ryan Campbell who I am certain you will remember for his swashbuckling batting, he basically invented the ramp shot, and his athletic wicket-keeping, and many would remember him for his fantastic work in the media post his cricket career,” Radio 6PR presenter Gareth Parker said while revealing the news on Tuesday m﷽orning.
“This news is a real shock to his family and friends … many of those family and friends Ryan Campbell caught up with just last week when he was here in Perth,” he added.
Campbell was appointed Dutch coa✤ch in January 2017.
As a player, he had also represented Hong Kong. The Perth-born featured for Hong Kong during the 2016 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, making him the oldest player to debut at 44 years and 30 days.
