The BCCI has informed DC that their players will also be tested ahead of the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. Only those players whose test reports return negative will be allowed to feature in the final XI. The support staff will be tested later in the day.
For the unversed, the DC vs PBKS match was scheduled to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, but was🔴 moved to Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday to avoid any further transmission of the novel coronavirus inside the camp.
“The change of venue has been triggered due to (then) five COVID-19 positive cases in the Delhi Capitals contingent,” the BCCI 🌳had said in their official statement on Tuesday.
New Zealand batter Tim Seifert is the other DC overseas player after Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to test positive and had to be hospitalised. Seifert hasn’t played a single game for DC in the ongoing IPL 2022 edition and was with the squad as back up of wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
The other members of the DC camp to test positive for Covid-19 include physiotherapist Patrick Farhart.
