Australia’s government security agencies have investigated the death threat directed against their star all-rounder Ashton Agar and his wife Madeleine.
Madeleine was sent a disturbing message on Instagram, potentially from India, warning her about Ashton’s safety during Australia’s upcoming tour of Pakistan.
The message stated that Ashton’s life would be at risk in Pakistan and also threatened the couple’s children, which they do not have.
🃏Cricket Australia, however, said that the threat is not a risk to Ashton and his family.
“Cricket Australia is aware of a social media post, of which the nature and content has been investigated by the PCB, CA and combined government security agencies,” a Cricket Australia statement read.
“There are extensive security plans in place for this type of social media activity, which, in this case, is not considered a risk. No further comment will be made at this time.”
Meanwhile, Agar is in good spirits despite the online threat directed to his wife. He is happy with the quick actions taken by the national board and the goꩵvernment security agencies.
The Aussies are on their first tour of Pakistan since 1998. They will begin the practice session on Tuesday before the opening Test in Rawalpindi, where there is a huge secu﷽rity presence at t🐷he moment.
