Ahead of the start of IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) management is concerned over the continued delay in the arrival of England international Moeen Ali, who still hasn’t joined the reigning champions, for the upcoming season.
Moeen, 34, who was retained by the Super Kings for INR 8 crore, is waiting for the clearance of his travel documents by the Indian 𓂃High Commission in ൲the UK.
“He had applied for his visa on February 28. It has been more than 20 days since the application was submitted. He has been a frequent traveller to India and yet he has not got the travel papers. We are hoping he will join the team soon. He has told us that he will take the very next flight after getting the papers,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
“Even the BCCI has got itself involved to help us. We are hoping that he will get the papers by Monday,” he added.
Ali will have to undergo a mandatory three-day quarantine upon his arrival in India. He is not a part of the𒁃 England Test team that is currently competing 𝔉against West Indies after having retired from the longest format of the game.
