The first ODI between India and West Indies began the new era of Indian cricket as it was Rohit Sharmas first match as the full-time ODI skipper. Rohit was appointed as the full-time white-ball captain by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), replacing Virat Kohli.

There were a lot of eagerness amongst the fans how Rohit and Kohli would play amid the change in leadership, especially considering the rumours and 🐟reports of a rift between the two superstars. However, both Rohit and Kohli proved there is nothing between the two after they gave a glimpse of utmost bonding.

It all happened when Kohli assisted Rohit while taking a DRS (Decision Review System). The incident happened during the 21st over of West indies’ innings when Yuzvendra Chahal‘s appeal for a caught behind was refused by the on-field umpire.

Rohit asked wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, but the latter was unsure about the edge. That’s when ex-captain Kohli came in and convinced Rohit to take the review. Rohit trusted the senior lad, and the judgement turned out to be right as Shamarh Brookes had edged the ball and was eventually given out.
