Chasing 147, Shreyas Iyer continued from where he left in the previ🎶ous match, playing another match-winning knock to take I♏ndia home. The right-handed batter stayed unbeaten on 73 off 45 deliveries, with the help of 10 boundaries, including a six.
All-rounder duo of Deepak Hooda (21) and Ravindra Jadeja (21 not out) chipped in with some valuable contributions to help hostꦰs register a whitewash over Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series.
Earlier, India restricted the tourists for 146/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowler for the home team, taking a couple of wickets for 23 runs in his quota of 4 overs, including a maiden. Harshal Patel (1/29), Mohammed Siraj (1/22) and Ravi Bishnoi (1/32) bagged one wicket apiece.
For the visitors, captain Dasun Shanaka was the lone warrior, with the rest of the bat꧟ters failing to stay in the middle for t✱oo long. Shanaka played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 74 runs off just 38 balls, including nine fours and a couple of six.
