On the opening day of the first Test between New Zealand and Ba✨ngladesh at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Devon Conway grabbed all the limelight, thanꦚks to his scintillating performance with the♔ willow.
Conway came to bat in the fourth over after the hosts lost captain Tom Latham (1) cheaply and went on to form a dominating stand with opener Will Young. The duo built a tremendous 138-runs partnershi💫p for the second wicket to power the Black Caps co🌠meback.
The home team lost Young for 52 after meeting a run-out, but Conway continued his aggressor role and soon reached his second century in the longest format. Conway then stitched a 50-run stand with senior batter Ross Taylor (31), w⛄ho is featuring in the penulti♈mate Test of his career.
The left-handed batter looked quite settled and was approaching his second double-ton before falling to the part-time left-arm spin of Bangladesh skipper Mominul Haque. Conway scored 122 off 227 deliveries, wiওth the help of 17 boundaries, includi🔴ng a six.
After Conway’s dismissal, Henry Nicholls and Tom Blundell formed a 31-run stand for the fifth wicket before Ebadot Hossain cleaned up Blundell on the last ball of the day. At stumps, New Zealand reached 👍258/5, with Nicholls unbeaten at 32.
Here is how Twitter reacted:

Bangl🌼adesh end day one with a late Ebadot Hossain wicket, but it is New Zealand who will be the happier side after being put into bat at the Bay Oval

It's remarkable how Devon Conway in his fourth Test is regarded as a veteran and the glue of the side.
Hardly a fair comparison but Ken Ruth🍬erford went into his fꦗourth Test having scored six runs.

I honestly can’t remember any batter I was more certain would get runs every time he bats than Devꦍon Conway.
