The newly added IPL franchise from Lucknow on Monday revealed their official name. They will be called by the name of Lucknow Super Giants. The official announcement was made by the franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka. He said that the team’s name was chosen from the recommendations made by the fans.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul will be the captain of this new team. He was drafted into the outfit for Rs 17 crore. The management also acquired the services of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis at a price of Rs 9.2 crore and will pay Rs 4 crore to India’s uncapped leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the team’s mentor.
As soon as the name got revealed on social media, Twitterati sparked a meme fest with the inaugural season’s champion Rajasthan Royals leading the way with a hilarious post finding a resemblance with Rising Pune Super Giants, who were a part of the IPL in 2016 and 2017.

I spent half my 𒈔working day. Learnt everything about RPSG businesses. Wrote 7 creative names, used email IDs of my entire family to submit them just to find out that this is your team name. Just Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V & edit. Itna low effort toh 2021 ki graduation batch bhi nahi thi
