Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi invited some negative limelig❀ht to his name during the second T20I against Bangladesh on Saturday.
After being hit for a six, Afridi intentionally threw the ball back at Bangladesh batter Afif Hossain.
The incident took place after the second delivery of the third over, which was hit for a maximum by Hossain. On the following delivery, when the young Bangladeshi defended the ball back to the bowler, Afridi – who was perhaps still smarting the six he got smacked on the previous ball – turned around and threw the ball at the batter, hitting Hossain on the ankle.
To his credit, Afridi immediately apologised for his mistake. Pakistan captain Babar Azam 🧸also rushed in to check on Hossain after the latter fell to t𒈔he ground because of the impact of the powerful throw.
After receiving treatment from his team’s physio, Hossain was declared fit to continue batting. The 22-year-old scored 20 runs off 21 balls before being dismissed by leg-spinner Shadab Khan.
