On Friday, Shreyas Iyer etched his name in history books as he became the fifteenth Indian batter to hit a century on his debut match in Test criℱcket. He also became the third Indian to hit a ton against New Zealand in his maiden Test.

Iyer reached the milestone against the Black Caps on Day 2 of the ongoing firs💧t Test 𝓀at Green Park in Kanpur. On the first ball of the 92nd over of India’s first innings, the Mumbaikar batsman gently dabbed the ball behind point to take a couple to complete his hundred. Although, in the 97th over, Iyer was caught by Will Young for 105 runs. He scored 13 fours and a couple of sixes.
