Tim Paine recently addressed a press conference in Hobart, where he announced his decision to step down as Australia’s Test captain. Paine took this call after being informed that his private text messages were going to be made public by Cricket Australia.
Tim sent his female colleague a series of lewd messages and some explic🌱it photos ahead of the Ashes in 2017.
Tim’s wife Bonnie Paine has now come out in support of her husband and stated that it’s injustice for the matter being dragged down again after years. Bonnie added that they both have moved forward since she first got to know about the messages in 2018.
“I have had my time of getting angry, and venting, and to get upset, and we fought and we talked, and then we both decided to move on with life, and do it together,” Bonnie said, speaking to News Corp alongside her hꦓusband.
“I feel a bit frustrated that it’s all been brought up and aired in the public when we’d put it to bed years ago. I have moved forward since then. I feel like there is a lot of injustice for it being dragged out again.
“I felt betrayed, and I felt hurt, upset, and I felt pissed off, I also had feelings of gratitude because he was being so honest with me,” she added further.
Bonnie also reacted to Tim’s resignation from the position of Australia’s Test captain and called it unfair.
“It broke my heart to be honest,” Bonnie said. “It’s sad that he felt he had to step down as captain over it, and I just think that’s unfair. I felt sad for him.”
