Indiaꦗn cricket has been perennially blessed with an array of batting reservoirs from🐈 all across the country.
Earlier, cr♏icketers only emerged from metropolitan cities. But now, with the massive popularity of cricket, quality players have cropped up from even deep inte💞riors of the country.
It has provided a massive competition for an India berth at the highest level. Only a few fortunate o🐲nes have been able to don the India cap.
Moreover, some like Vidarbha batter Faiz Fazal, have kept on knocking at the selector’s doors with impressive performances at the domestic circuit. But opportunities at the highest l🦋evel have come far and few between.
Fazal was drafted into the second string squad which t🌱oured Zimbabwe in 2016. The technicaꦆlly sound left-hander also stitched an impressive partnership of 126 runs with KL Rahul in the 3rd ODI at Harare. He scored an unbeaten 55 in that game.
One would expect to have another go, after scoring an unbeaten half-century in international cricket. But unfortunately for Fazal, Indian team management went ahead with KL Rahul, who scored a flashy 63 in that game.
“I don’t know to be honest. You know the competition in the Indian team is very tough. I feel very fortunate that I could play for India. Because that was the aim to play for the country, n💖othing can be compared with that,” Fazal told SportsTiger on YouTube🍸 show ‘Off the Field’.
However, the 34-year-old hopes to feature in Test cricket, which is most su✃ited to his style of play.
“I still aim to play for the Indian Test team. Yes, I feel disappointed that I couldn’t continue my place in the Indian t💜eam but bet𒁃ter than asking me, I don’t know, you should ask few other people in the circuit,” he reckoned.
Fazal has amassed over 8400 first-class runs, with the help of his 21 tons and 37 half-centurie๊s.
“But there must be some fau♉lt in me as well and you have to accept it. I need to perform a lot more. The game itself is my greatest motivation and I love playing cricket at any stage,” further added the leftꩵ-hander.
