In India, there is hardly any other sport which has the capaci🦄ty to match the passion revolving cricket. From tiny toddlers to an aged fanatic, cricket is played by one and all in the country.
Former Australian captain Steve Waugh, in his b𝄹ook ‘Spirit of Cricket’ has tried to encapsulate the madness revolving the sport in the country, by travelling the lengths a🐻nd breadths of the nation before COVID-19 hit globally.
The 1999 World Cup winner travelled to grounds in metropolitans such Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai, as well as Tier-II cities such as Agr💝a, Mathura, Dharamshala and Baroda to capture the moments on camera, depicting the f♉renzy surrounding the game.
Waugh, who is conside𝔍red one of the legends of the game, has d🃏eep regards for the spirit and love for cricket, which India houses.
“I’ve just taken 20,000 photographs fro𓄧m my 17-day trip all over India. This book will showcase the spirit of cricket in India and explore why cricket is a religion to the people. I have also over 50 hours of video footage to be turned into a documentary-style program. I will be𝓰 editing all the above work over the next few months with the aim to sell the book by August. I’m hoping corporates in India will buy this as a gift to give their clients,” Waugh told Mumbai mirror earlier.
Now, former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh recently shared the trailer of Waugh’s book on Twitter which also drew the i𒅌nterest of ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar.
