BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has been prescribed home quarantine after his elder brother Snehasish Gang💧uly was tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday.
Even Abhishek Dalmia, the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), has been advised home quarantine, after coming in 🃏contact with Snehasish, who is also the General Secretary of CAB.
“The reports arrived late in the evening. As pe🎀r health protocols, even Sourav will have to be 🏅in home quarantine for a stipulated period,” Sourav’s close aide told PTI.
Last week both Dalmia and Snehasish met when Kolkata Police requested for space below a section of galleries as a quarantine facility. The requisi♒tion was made for the personnel who were tested positive with coronavirus.
“Yes, I would be u💞ndergoing home quarantine as per required protocol,” Dalmiya said on Thursday. “Other than having a mild temperature, he (Snehasish) is all right at the moment,” Sourav’s close aide added.
Reportedly, 55-year-old Snehasish was admitted in Belle Vue Hospital, Wednesday night onwards. The former Bengal cricketer resides in🍨 the same residence as Sourav.
It was only a few weeks back when Sourav’s elder brother’s kins were diagnosed COVID-19 positive. It is learnt that Snehasish shifted to his ancestral prop😼erty in Behala after his wife and in-laws were diagnosed positive at their Mominpur residence.
Earlier, during an interview, Ganguly suggested that his brother is at a greater risk of getting infect🦋ed with the virus, due to his frequent factory visit.
“He (Snehasish) was suffering from fever for the last few days and his test report came 🥃positive today. He’s been admitted to Belle Vue Hospital,” a CAB official close to the matter quoted.
Snehasish has represented Bengal in 59 first-class games and 18 List A matches in a career spanni꧂ng from 1987 to 1997. Post-retirement, Snehasish has been involved in his family printing ♓business.
