In recent weeks, former England captain Nasser Hussain has b𒊎een pretty vocal about Sourav Ganguly’s old habit of making captain of the opposition wait before the toss.
Even former Australian capt🐽ain Steve Waugh expressed his frustration while waiting for ‘Dada’ to arrive at the toss.
During a recent interaction with Mayank Agarwal in ‘Open Nets with Mayank’, Ganguly j෴ustified his t꧑hinking behind making captains wait for the toss.
In Dada’s words, making the opposition captain wait f✅or 𒅌the toss got onto their nerves and in turn, affected their performances.
Accordingꦯ to the current BCCI President, it all started with an🃏 accident but observing its effects working on the opposition, helped him sustain his habit.
Now, ex-India international Irfan P🅷athan has concurred the statement by claiming that Ganguly used to take his own sweet time to get ready for the toss, making opposition captain wait.
“On my first tour of Australia, when he made Steve Waugh wait, I remember it clearly. I would be in the dressing room and I remember whenever it was time for the toss, Dada used to look at the clock, and the manager would remind hi𝓰m that it’s time to go out for the toss.” Pathan recalled on Star Sports’ show ‘Cricket Connected’.
Despite last calls from Sachin Tendulkar and the manager, Sourav used to take his time to fix his cap, tie shoelaces and adjusting his sweꦬater.
“During the Sydney Test, I remember it was Sachin paaji who said ‘Dada, you should go. It’s time for the toss’. But Dada would take his sweet tim🃏e to put on his shoes, swe𒉰ater; adjusting his cap,” Pathan added.
In the end, Patha🍨n suggested that for a normal human being, when late, pressure is quite visible on the face. However, when looking at Dada being lat🍷e, Pathan asserted that he remained unperturbed.
“When a person is getting late, the prꦓessure becomes visible on his face but🧸 Dada would never be in a hurry,” Pathan concluded.
Reliving some of the b🅺est Dada memories, especially the ꦍones around toss time 😁
