As soon as the news broke, ECB𒅌 dropped Archer from the squad and directed the bowler to undergo mandatory five days of self-isolation.
Archer was duly penalised an❀d got a strict warning from the board over his recklessness.
Several former cricketers criticised Archer for his actions, and one of them was the forme𝄹r Pakistan captain Salman Butt. The left-handed batsman was banned from playing international cricket for five years following his involvement in a match-fixing scandal in 2010.
Speaking on his YouTube Channel, Butt said that Archer should “not have broken the rules” which are being laid amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
