Form🗹er Indian batsman, Yuvraj Singh, recently revealed about not being able to sleep for 15 days after ex-England all-rounওder Dimitri Mascarenhas hit him for five sixes in an over.
Yuvi’s astonishing feat of hitting six-sixes in a single over off England seamer Stuart Broad which came in the 2007 World Cup game in D♑urban is one for the folklore.
However, his six-hitting spree came in the aftermath of getting hit for five maximums from a s𝓡ingle-over bowled in the 2007 England-India ODI match at Oval.
In a recent conversation, Yuvi admitted that he could not sleep for 15 days straight and even spilled t𝔉he words spoken to him after hitting Broad for 36 in one over.
He also expressed his surprise when the then Indian🧜 captain, Rahul Dravid handed him the ball in the final over.
“I was playing a game at the Oval, and I don’t know why the captain [Dravid] gave me to bowl the last over. Dimitri Mascarenhas hit me for five sixes in six balls. I’m glad he didn’t hit me for six 🤡sixes and I couldn’t sleep for the next 15 days,” Yuvraj commented on Sony Ten Pit Stop’s show.
Then, the Punjab stalwart registered his disappointment after a number of threat calls received by his friends and family, post the🥃 incident.
“The calls and messages ไfrom my friends after thꦉat were really disheartening. I never got so many calls when I scored a hundred,” he recalled.
Moreover, Yuvraj found෴ his moment ♉of vengeance in the subsequent T20 World Cup in South Africa. The left-hander also disclosed the words spoken to Mascarenhas after achieving his heroic feat.
“Then I remember when I hit six sixes, I did not look at Broad or anyone, I looked at Dimitri and said, 🦂‘This is over now, this is gone to bed’. It was very satisfying that I could do it against the same team,” Yuvraj concluded. Interestinglꦗy, India won both the matches, at Oval and Kingsmead, Durban.
