One of the most ancient rivalries in the history of the Indian Premier League is that🦩 of Chennai Supe♕r Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
The two💙 sides met in the highly anticipated IPL final of the inaugural se💞ason in 2008, where the Royals emerged victorious over the yellows of CSK.
Since then, each and every encounter between the two sides have been high octa꧃ne over the years. The two sides also received a two-year ban in 2015.
However, the two sides came back brilliantly in the 2018 season to resu𓆏me their classic rivalries.
CSK captain MS Dhoni is generally renowned for his composure in high-pressure situations. Buꦛt, during the 2019 season, when CSK and RR had a face-off at Jaipur, Dhoni appeared to lose his cool after one of thꦉe incidents.
As usual, the action went down to the wire. But the umpires, in the high-pressure situation, failed to call a no-ཧball in the final over of Ben Stokes.
Dhoni, who was dismissed by Stokes’ unplayable yorker on 58, could not finish the job for his side, needing 152ඣ to win🍌.
With eight needed off the final three de𝓡liveries, Stokes bowled a slower delivery which clearly was way above the ဣwaistline.
The umpires, somehow, failed to call it a no-ball, which e🔯nraged Dhoni, who ha꧃d to step on to the field. Now, all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham, who was part of the RR camp, has given his view on the incident in a recent interaction.
“When a guy like MS involves himself while playing a game, it shows the intensity of the IPL. It says that the🐻 coolest of people will lose their temper when it 🏅comes to such games,” Gowtham told Crictracker during an Instagram Live chat.
“It’s like one of those incidents where we can’t think too much about it and dwell on it too much because in cricket sometimes emotions get over the best of people. And he was so into the🐠 game that he couldn’t control himself. He just walked in. You hardly get t🍸o see Mr Cool losing his cool. So we need to enjoy that as well,” he added.
Inไ the end,🍸 it was Mitchell Santner who finished the job for CSK, with a six on the final delivery of Stokes’ over. Although, it was Dhoni’s knock which resurrected CSK’s chase and helped them win by 4 wickets.
