T♐here is hardly any sight better in world cricket than watching Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bat in tandem. Whenever the two modern masters bat together, it seems as if it is poetry in motion.
However, one should spare a thought for the bowlers and the captain ꧒in the opposition when both Virat and Kohli make their lives dif🅺ficult.
The dynamic duo has sti𓄧tched in💎numerable hundred run partnerships as well as many double-century stands, to turn the tide in favour of India.
Recently, umpire Michael Gough revealed about the incident when a helpless Australian captain, Aaron Fi🌼nch, sought advice f☂rom him, when both Virat and Rohit were going great guns during one of the matches.
“I remember a match between India and Australia, and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were putting on a huge partnership. I was standing next to Aaron Finch at ꧙😼square-leg and he said to me, during the game, how it was unbelievable to watch these two great players,” Gough told Wisden Cricket Monthly.
“Then he asked me how I would bowl at them! I looked at him and said, ‘I’ve 🥂go❀t enough on my plate, you’re on your own there’,” added Gough.
Although Gough did not mention the details of the match, it is highly likely that he was talking about the recent ODI at Bengaluru, earlier in 🔴2020, where he stood as an umpire.
With the series levelled at 1-1, the action shifted to the thir🐬d and the finไal ODI at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
India had their task cut-out, chasing a challenging 🅘total of 286. Moreover, it turned out to be one-way traffic as Rohit and Virat cruised India towards victory with their match-winning partnership of 137 runs.
Captain Kohli scored 89 runs, while Rohit notched up yet another ODI ton du༺ring his 119 run-knock. As a result, India won the series by 2-1.
