The untimely demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has shaken the country badly, and everyone was shocked to know about the darkness he was going through in his last days. The 34-year-old actor committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on Sunday (Ju𓆏ne 14).
Initial investigation revealed that Sushant wasn’t battling depression and neglect from the very own industry he was part of. Indian cricket team leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been continually talking about Sushant’s tragic death, and in his latest Instagram story, he shared a touching post remembering the actor.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s special connection with cricket
Sushant, who made his Bollywood debut with movie Kai Po Che!, was a big fan of cricket. He played the role of an ex-district level cricketer in his first film. In 2016, he portrayed the role of MS Dhoni in the former Indian captain’s biopic.
Sushant had once even impressed batting legend, Sachin Tendulkar, with his batting skills. In a conversation with The Indian Express, former Indian wicket-keeper Kiran More had revealed that Tendulkar was stunned to see Sushant’s batting. More, who also featured in Dhoni’s biopic, had coached Sushant.
“I remember the moment when Sachin Tendulkar was left stunned when he saw Sushant Singh batting. Sushant was working on a biopic of MS Dhoni, and I was asked by the director Neeraj Pandey and the producer Arun Pandey to coach him on wicketkeeping and batting. A few weeks into the training, I remember Sushant practising the famous Helicopter shot of Dhoni. That’s when Tendulkar came to the training ground at BKC Bandra, a Mumbai suburb,” More had said.
