Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former Pakistan cricket team captain, is enjoying time with his family while in quarantine. Moreover, he has become proactive on the social media platforms after cricketing activities came down to a st🎶andstill due to COVID-19 outbreak.
Ahmed’s career has got a new lease of life after his selection for the upcoming England tour in August. The 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman was relieved from the captaincy in October last year and he lost his place to Mohammad Rizwan in all formats.
Earlier this year, Ahmed was also demoted from Category A to Category B in the PCB central contracts. After being dropped, Ahmed he went back to first-class cricket and scored a hundred in his tally of 340 runs 🧔at 48.57.
In a recent interaction with Anish S🗹ajan, Sarfaraz named Virat Kohli as the best batsman in the world ahead of players like Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, David Warner, Joe Root and Rohit Sharma.
“In today’s time, there should be no doubt, it is Virat Kohli who’s the world’s number 1 batsman,” Ahmed said. “But, as I have told you before that when I have been behind the wicket, I have felt that although Rohit Sharma does not have that many runs in Test matches, the timing that he has is great. But the number one player in the world is definitely Virat Kohli. Nobody can match him,” the Karachi-born cricket added.
During the same interview, when Sarfaraz was asked to choose his favourite among Pakistani film actresses Me🔯hwish Hayat and Ayeza Khan, he went fo🦩r Hayat.
Talking about his favourite Bollywood actress, Ahmed picked Katrina Kaif over Deepika Padukone. “Katrina Kaif is my favourite from the beginning, so it’s her.”
Sarfaraz Ahmed hopes for more India-Pakistan cricket matches in the future
Ahmed rues the lack of cricket matches between the two♐ neighbouring countries and hopes that fans can see more of India-Pakistan games.
“Of course, there is this thing that people from India and Pakistan are quite passionate about cricket and have loads of love for the game. I have personally seen that there is a good friendship between Pakistani and Indian players,” the former Pakistan skipper added.
