On June 23, Indian cricket team fans celebrated the seventh anniversary of the famous Champions Trophy triumph. Back in 2013, India crushed England in a memorable rain-affected final to lift their maiden ICC Champions Trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Due to the showers, the game was reduced to 20-overs per side. India first posted 129/7 on the board and then restricted England to 12🌸4/8 in a nail-biting encounter which went down to the last ball.
With that win, Dhoni had become the first international skipper🔯 in the world to have lifted all three ICC trophies. Previously, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup under the captainc🐬y of Dhoni.
Speaking about the same, former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif on Tuesday a💦rticulated that Dhoni still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket. The Prayagraj-born cricketer shared pictures of Dhoni posing with all the three ICC trophies in a tweet.
Kaif hailed the wicket-keeper batsman for his accomplishments as a player and as a skipper. He termed the Ranchi-born as one of India’s greatest match-winners.
“On this day, 7 years back, MS Dhoni became the first captain to win all three ICC Trophies—Champions Trophy (2013), World Cup(2011) & WT20 (2007). Fine captain & a champion player. One of India’s greatest match-winners. I feel he still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket,” Kaif wrote on Twitter.

Dhoni last donned the Indian jersey in the 2019 World Cup semi final clash against New Zealand. Since then, questions have been raised over his return. In fact, the speculations over Dhoni’s future further strengthened after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not keep him in the centrally contracted players list.
MSD was all set ti lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, but due to coronavirus outbreak, the BCCI was forced to suspend the 13th season for an indefinite time. Just like Kaif, Dhoni fans are also hopeful to see their favourite star’s return.
