In the last decade, Indian cricket has been inꦛcredibly blessed to boast the services of three🍨 world-class captains.
Ta🐼lismani♌c wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has won all ICC titles, captaining the Indian side. Also, he has won three IPL titles with his beloved franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Dhoni handed the baton of captaincy to Virat Koh𒐪li, who has done exceptionally well in red-ball cricket. In the ⭕absence of Kohli, his deputy Rohit Sharma has been phenomenal in the shortest format of the game.
Also, Rohit has four IPL titles to his name, leading the Mumbai Indians (MI). The trio’s individual brilliance has forced enthusiasts to draw comparisons regarding their captaincy.
Karnataka and former Rajasthan Royals (RR) ace all-rounder, Krishnappa Gowtham was asked the pertinent question, and there he went ahead with his for♐mer captain at the MI side, Rohit.
“I would say Rohit Sharma because I’ve played in his team and we won the tournament under him in the IPL,” said Gowtham when quizzed by Crictracker on Instagram Live chat.
Then, he was asked to choose brute hitter West Indies between Andre Russell and South African batting maestro AB de Villiers.🔜 Gowtham went ahead with the Protean, ahead of the Jamaican all-rounder.
“Considering the way Andre Russell has played in the past two years, he’s been a beast. I did get a chance to interview him, I called him a beast. We should give it to him. But, ABD is someone who can change the game in any given time and the energy that he brings into the team. I would back ABD any day,” he added.
Further in the conversation, Gowtham was then asked to describe Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. To which, Gowtham used the term ‘Mr Consistent’ for Kohli, and ‘Captain’ for MS Dhoni.
Last year, Gowtham achieved the herculean feat of scoring 134 off 56 deliveries and ending up with bowling figures of 8/15 in the same match while🍰 representing Bellary Tuskers in the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). He was bought by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 2020 IPL auctions.
