Out of so many golden moments, one cricketing memory which will always remain special for Indian cricket fans is Yuvraj Singh‘s gigantic effort of slamming Stuart Broad for 6 sixes in an over.

It happened in the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup in South Africa when India were taking on the challenge ꦫof England at Kingsmead in Durban. It has been over 12 years since, and Yuvraj, to this date, remains the only player in T20Is to achiev🐎e the feat.

On many events, Yuvi has himself talked about the various things which somehow pumped him up to display severe strikes across the stadium. Even Broad has revealed his side of the story quite a few times. However, now, David Lloyd has opened up on how the extraordinary scenes felt like from a commentator’s viewpoint.

Apart from David, current India head coach Ravi Shastri was also sitting behind the mic. Llyod, while remembering the event, has revealed that Shastri wasn’t supposed to be on air during that over (19th), but he changed the line-up around. Eventually, Ravi ended up witnessing the moment by adding his remarkable commentary.

“We did a thing with Ravi Shastri earlier on, and he said – you may not remember this, Bumble – but you actually … not changed the comm rota, but you said, ‘Ravi, you should be on now towards the end of this innings.’ Is that right?” Rob Key, the former England cricketer, asked David during the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast.

“That’s right. You know sometimes, these producers haven’t a clue when they’re doing those comm rotas! So I just switched it slightly,” David answered.

David described the whole scene as terrific and br🌃illiant.

“(He was) absolutely brilliant, Ravi (Shastri) was all over it. It was terrific. Broady was going around the park, and that batting … Yuvraj was just flicking it. Just a little flick, and off it went. Brilliant,” David added.

Yuvraj remained unbeaten on 58 off 16 balls which included three fours and seven massive sixes. Thanks to the Punjab batsman’s explosive knock that India posted 218/4 in 20 overs and later won the match by 18 runs.
