The name of Uttar Pradesh seamer Bhuvneshwar Kuma🐓r started doing rounds even before he made his international debut.
During one of the Challenger Trophy games, Bhuvi managed to dismiss the gr𒅌eat Sachin Tendulkar, to make a reputation of his own in domestic cricket.
Indian ♚captain MS Dhoni did not take much time to introduce Bhuvi at the international stage and presented him with the opportunity bowling with the new ball against𝔍 Pakistan at Chennai, back in 2012.
In turn, Bhuvi did not disappoint his fans and presented the result instantly by picking up the wicket of Mohammad Hafeez 🌜on the very first delivery he bowled in ODI cricket.
Since t💯hen, there has been no looking back for Bhꦑuvi, as he went on to become one of the best death bowlers in the country.
Now, Bhuvi revealed 𝔉how his former captain helped him bag success at the highest level, during a recent interaction.
“I try to think in the same way [focussing on the process]. Like you mentioned MS Dhoni, I have observed him a𒐪nd learnt, even though he is a batsman, on 🍰how to play the role of a finisher. You know that a result is inevitable, you’ll either win or lose,” Bhuvi told Deep Dasgupta on EspnCricinfo.
“But you need to focus on the small things and the process. If you focus on the process, it would seem that you are detached from the result. If you do your job wellꦡ, you’ll end up winning, and if you don’t, you will lose.”
Moreover, it was his stint at Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)𒐪 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which helped him garner his reputation with the ball.
Bhuvi has been one oꦆf the most successful bowlers in the IPL. He proved his utilities with the new ball as well as at the death at crunch situations.
“So I try and pay attention to where I want to deliver every ball. I remember, in the couple of good seasons I have had in the IPL, I was in that zone I referred to before, where I was detached from the r🍸esult.
“I was so focussed on the process that the resuꦗlt had become secondary. But when I looked back at those seasons as a whole, the ultimate aim of winning the matches was more on the positive side than the negative,” Bhuvi concluded.
