Former Chairma♌🌌n of Selectors MSK Prasad recently drew comparisons between the captaincy styles of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Prasad’s stint as chief selector of the Indian cricket team was marred with contro✤versies. However, the team did notably well under 🦹his tenure, starting from September 2016 and ending in March 2020.
Dominantly, it was Virat who captained the Indian side during his tenure after MS Dhoni passed on the captai♐ncy baton. Virat has been the most successful captain for India at the Test 𝔉level.
In Virat’s absence,꧟ Rohit excelled as the Indian captain in coloured clothing with the famous 2018 Nidahas Trophy, Asia Cup and other bilateral series at home. In franchise cricket, Rohit’s captaincy is unmatched🔯 with four trophies to his name.
“If you look at fundame🗹ntal styles, leadership has got so many different styles, these three are three different guys and I am sure all three are equally good,” Prasad told Boria Mazumdar on YouTube show Fancode.
“They are three guys who have three different styles. Mahi is absolutely cool, you never know what is there in his mind until it is executed, he’s very very cool, and very very accommodative whereas Virat is pretty clear. He’s at you all the time, he’s very clear in his mind what he wants,” Prasad remarked on the only captain to have won all ICC titles, MS Dhoni.
“If you are talking about R꧃ohit, he’s more of an accommodative sort of a guy. He definitely has that empathy towards other players and he thinks from their hats,” added Prasad.
Barring the 2018 U19 ওWorld Cup win, India has failed to clinch any major multilateral tournament since the 2013 Champions Trophy, at all levels.
The Men i﷽n Blue have had the tendency to not be able to cross the final few hurdles, getting knocked out in the semi-finals, or finishing second in th꧒e finals of the coveted tournaments.
