Former India cricketer and Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh is never shy of making bold statements, and in a recent interview, the 62-year-old took a dig at MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli for not backing his son.

His statement comes after Yuvraj had also opined that in terms of captaincy, he did not get as much support from Dhoni and Kohli, as compared to former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

In a chat with News24, Yograj was asked whether Dhoni and Kohli betrayed Yuvraj. “Along with these two, I would say that even the selectors betrayed him. I had met Ravi recently. He asked me for a photograph. I called him and pointed out that all great players should get a send-off based on their performances. When Dhoni, Kohli or Rohit retire, I would request the board to give them a good send-off as they have done so much for Indian cricket. Many have backstabbed him, and it hurts,” he said.

Yuvraj, one of the finest white-ball cricketers ever, announced his r🐈etirement from international cricket and the IPL on June 10, 201⛄9.

Yograj further slammed the Indian selection panel, especially former selector Sharandeep Singh, claiming that he always wanted 💧to drop Yuvraj from the team.

“Indian selector Sharandeep Singh, he used to go to meetings and say that Yuvraj should be dropped. Such people are appointed as selectors who do not know ABC of cricket. What do you expect from them? It hurts when someone backstabs you. Everybody was worried about what would happen to them if Yuvraj continues to perform,” Yograj added.

Yuvraj, too, has been critical of the MSK Prasad-led national selection panel, in the past. “We do need better selectors, for sure,” he had told reporters in Mumbai. “Selectors’ job is not easy. Whenever they select 15 players, there will be talks that what will happen to the other 15. It’s a difficult job, but their thinking in terms of modern-day cricket is not up to the mark. It’s my opinion.”

The left-hander had earlier claimed that the selectors did not pick him after being asked to clear the yo-ꦇyo test, which he d🦋id.
