One-half of the modern Fab Four of batsmen currently, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith, are two of the be꧋st batsmen in the world.
The two have ruled all forms of crꦆicket in their glittering career amassing tons at will, playing at the cove♈ted number three position.
However, they are preceded by openers David Warner and Rohit Sharma, who facꩵe the music upfront with﷽ the brand new cricket ball.
During a recent conversation between Warner and Rohit, the two discusse♎d how they make Smith and Virat the best in the world, respectively.
“People say Kohli and Smith are the best in the world. But we make Smith and Kohli because we take the shine off the ball. We have got an important job as openers,” Warner told Rohit in a jovial manner.
During the interaction which lasted more than an hour, the two discussed various topics. Warner and Rohit also talked about batting with opener Shikhar Dhawan.
Rohit and Dhawan open for India in white-ball cricket while the Warner-Dhawan duo served for🅺 Sunrisers Hyderabad for several seasons.
There, Rohit mentioned about Dhawan being an idiot, due to his tendency to take a couple of steps after dabbing the delivery. Warner concurred about facing difficulty batting with Dhawan while committing for🉐 a quick run.
Also, during the conversation, Warner talked about his ‘bizarre’ journey to becoming an opener after initially being tagged as a middle-order batsman, who bowled handy leg-spinners.
“It was bizarre. I was in the middle-order, sort of coming in at the back end of the innings. In 2009, Dominic Thornely was captain of New South Wales and Philip Hughes was opening when I was suddenly told that I am opening,” said the Aussie cricketer.
“After that I just let my bowling go, and before I knew it I was walking out at the MCG in front of 80,000 people against South Africa,” Warner concluded.
