Former fast bowler and a legend of Pakistan cricket Wasim Akram has dropped his thoughts on the never-ending debate of Virat Kohli vs Sachin Tendulkar. Fans often compare the two batting geniuses with some claiming that Kohli has all the potential to break the phenomenal records of ‘Master Blaster’. While some fans believe that the ‘run-machine’ won’t be able to break all records of Sachin.

Although, the present Indian skipper has already broken quite a few of Sachin’s record but still has a long way to go. Surely, he will break and accomplish many more feats but as per Akram, Kohli might not be able to break every record held by Tendulkar. Speaking with former Indian opener Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel, the ‘Sultan of Swing’ stated that Sachin holds ‘too many records’.

“I’m a straight shooter; I say what I feel. I can’t compare them both, but I think Virat Kohli will go places, and he will break so many records. Can he break Sachi’s record? I doubt it. He has far too many records. He’s getting there, but there’s still time,” said Akram.

Amongst Kohli’s many records, his most famous one was when he overshadowed Tendulkar’s achievement of being the quickest to score 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Kohli reached the landmark in 205 innings whereas Tendulkar had taken 259 innings to do so.

Overall, Sachin is the leading run-scorer in international cricket. He had featured in 66𒆙4 matches for Team India and accumulated a mountain of 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52. The Mumbaikar had also smashed 100 international centurieജs and 164 fifties.

Kohli, on the other hand, has so far played 416 international games and amassed 21,901 runs aꦉt an outstanding average of 56.15. The Delhi-born has slammed 70 hundreds and 104 half-centuries in his remarkable career.
