Former Indian batt꧂ing legend, Yuvraj Singh, recently recalled the time when one of the Australian pacers forced him to ponder about his retirement.
Yuvraj was an integral part of the Indian batting set up in over a decade long career. One of the greats produced 💟by India in white-ball cricket, Yuvi, was part of the famous Indian world-cup winning squad of 2007 and 2011.
Parallelly, Yuvraj also had a successful IPL career. Yuvi was popular among⛦st bidders in the auctions as he bagged cash-heavy contracts from almost all franchises oveꦐr the years.
After the initial years of leading the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Yuvi represented Royal C🐠hallengers Bangalore (RCB) after a brief stint at Pune Warriors.
Also, the Punjab cricketer donned the emblem of Delhi Daredevils (DD, now Delhi Capitals), Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and also went 𒈔back to the Mohali-based franchise.
During hi🐽s second stint at KXIP in 2018, Yuvraj had the opportunity to rub shoulders with Australia and Perth Scorchers pacer And♔rew Tye.
In a recent chat with Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, Yuvraj reflected on his announc🌌ement plans. But during his conversation, the 38-year-old also recalled that it was Tye who made him p🦄onder about his retirement.
“I realised I should retire after I played with you (Jasprit Bumrah) guys in the final stages of my career. But I actually thought of retirement first in 2018 when I was playing the IPL for Kings XI Punjab, and Andrew Tye started calling me ‘Yuvi pa’,” Yuvraj Singh told Bumrah on an Instagram Live session.
Yuvraj drew curtains to his glittering career after being overlookꦿed for the 2019 ODI World Cup in England. After receiving the axe fromܫ selectors post-2017 Champions Trophy, the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu were tried for the debatable slot.
The former Indian number four was part of the India Legends team in the Road Safety Wor🌳ld Seri🌃es before the tournament got suspended due to coronavirus outbreak.
