The Coronavirus ⭕pandemic has put all the sporting activities on hold. Many countries are facing lockdown in order to flatten the curve. Meanwhile, sports personalities are facing difficulties to remain fit during these day♈s.
Cricke🍌ters too are no different either. They are de💜aling with the challenge to stay fit as well as finding ways to do some sort of practice. Well, Australian middle-order batsman, Marnus Labuschagne has managed to keep himself busy and he found an innovative way of getting some batting practice as well via backyard cricket.
Despite not having the Aussie pacers to bowl at him or the coaching staff to provide some throwdowns, Labuschagne still got a wayಞ to knock a few balls, thanks to his friend who is currently in isolation with him at his house.
In a video posted on Instagram by Labuschagne’s Big Bash League (BBL) team Brisbane Heat, the right-handed batsman can be seen taking throwdowns in his backyard. The cricketer’s dog can also be seen participating in the training.
While talking to Melbourne’s SEN Radio, Labuschagne revealed that he is living with one of his best mates and passing the time by taking some throwdowns from him.
“I’m lucky enough that I’ve actually got one of my best mates living with me at the moment. He’s in isolation with me. So me and him are getting a few throwdowns, and doing a bit of training,” Labuschagne told SEN Radio, as quoted by cricket.com.au.
Labuschagne said that he is playing a bit of tennis as well and doing the gym to make sure he rꦿemains fit.
“That’s about as much cricket as I’m getting … a taped-up tennis ball in the backyard with a dog thrower. I’m playing a little bit of tennis, where it’s allowed with the isolation rules to get my fitness in. And I’m doing the gym, so there’s a lot of stuff to stay on top of,” he added.
At the current 🅠pandemic situation, the 25-year-old said that he🤪 is trying to stay positive during this phase as no one knows when all of this will get over.
“You try to speak to people, you try and stay positive, and think ‘oh well, we’re going to be back playing soon. And the problem is no-one really knows how this is unfolding. For me, it’s just about taking it week by week and day by day, just trying to improve myself in other areas of life that I’ve probably neglected for the last couple of months. So that’s my challenge,” Labuschagne added further.
