It is said that in cricket, batsmen always have a slight advantage over bowlers; however, this is still debatable. But what is not dubious is the fact that irrespective of all the talented batsmen, there have been many bowlers who have completely dominꦚated in their respective eras in all formats of the game.
The likes of Wasim Akram, Alan Donald, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath are the fe▨w out of the ordinary bowlers who have been magnificent with their extreme pace, unplayable spin, a𝔍nd sublime line and length with a mixture of supreme consistency.
In modern-day cricket too, few standout bowlers have impressed with their performances along with the regularity in the game, and the International𝐆 Cricket Council (ICC)ꦦ has shared data which reveals the top 5 modern-cricket bowlers.
The ICC took to its official Twitter handle and shared the list of top five bowlers who have taken the maximum number of wickets in the lastꦡ three years.
South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada tops the listꦏ with a total of 231 wickets to his name at an impressive average of 24.76. The Australian pacer Pat Cummins sits right behind Rabada, who has taken 215 scalps at a brilliant average of 24.44 since January 2017.
The third and fourth place is occupied by New Zealand’s Trent Boult and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, respectively. Boult has grabbed 209 wickets with a marvellous average of 24.95, while Rashid has taken 193 with a remarkable average of 15.89.
The last on the top-5 bowlers’ list is India’s frontline paceman Jasprit Bumrah. The Ahmedabad-born fast bowler has taken 186 wickets since January 2017 with an outstanding average of 23.34.
