This is how IPL 2020 can be organized this year: Ashish Nehra comes up with a solution

The 13th season ofꦯ Indian Premier League (IPL) was supposed to kick-off from March 29, however, due to Coronavirus pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to postpone the 2020 edition until mid-April.

Not only IPL, but all the leagues associated with any sports have also either been postponed or cancelled. Even a major🍃 event like the Olympics has been delayed for a year and now it will be held in 2021.

Now, as far as the current situation is concerned, there is a strong possibility that the cash-rich league will most probably get cancelled for the ongoing year. But, former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra, thinks otherwise.

The left-arm fast bowler is of the opinion that there is still scope of IPL getting organized in 2020. While talking in a Star Sports 1 Hindi show ‘Cricket Connected,’ Nehra said that IPL could take place in October later this year, provided the COVID-19 pandemic is brought under control.

“Even if the IPL doesn’t happen in August, (because) there are a lot of places in India that witness rains during that month and there are high chances that lots of matches will get cancelled,” said Nehra.

“If things go back to normal around the world by October, we’ll have a 100 per cent clearance,” added the 40-year-old.

The deadly COVID-19 has claimed nearly 150 Indian lives and more than 80,000 have lost their liv🅷es globally. This has forced many countries, including India, to go under lockdown in their bid to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
