Back in 2010, the hallowed turf of Lord’s hosted a Test match between Australia and Pakistan. The two old foes clashed against each other for a two-match Test series then.

Pakistan’s left-arm seamer, Mohammad Amir, in a recent interaction, talked about how the then Australian captain Ricky Ponting, sledged the Pakistan team relentlessly.

Amir went live on Instagram in conversation with Shan Maqsood while talking about the incident.
After beinꦜg dismissed on 26 by A🐷mir, Ponting got physical with the left armer.

“Remember, Umar Amin took the catch of Ponting,” Maqsood said. To which Amir replied by saying. “Me and Umar Amin got verbally abused by Ponting after dismissing him. He elbowed me as well,” Amir replied.

While sharing further details about the Test match, Maqsood described how Pakistan’s number three batsman received a mouthful from Ponting for not tucking in his shirt.

“When he [Umar Amin] went to bat in that match, his shirt was not tucked in. So, when he was taking his batting guard, Ponting came up to him and asked him to tuck in his shirt because he was not playing in his backyard,” Shan stated.

As a result, a scared Amin, making his debut, could only manage a single run, before being dismissed by Mitchell Johnson. “He scared the poor guy before he could bat,” said Amir.

Australia managܫed to win the Test match by a margin of 150-runs. The two-match series ended in a draw as Pakistan bounced back in the second Test match at Leed꧒s.

Amir was instrumental in the second innings of the Headingleyౠ Test match as he clinched a four-wicket haul with the prized scalp of Simon Katich, Mike Hussey, Ponting and Marcus North.
