Amid lockdo🦋wn, many former cricketers are trying different things to engage with their fans, revealing their favourite batsmen/bowlers. Some have even named their best XI featuring cricketers from all around the world. The latest name on this bandwagon is former Australian batsman Michael Hussey.
On Wednesday, Hussey picked ‘Best Enemies XI’ in Test cricket on “The Unplayable Podcast”. The 44-year-old went with four South African players, three Indians, two Sri Lankans and one each from West Indies and England.
For the openers, Hussey picked swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag and former Proteas captain Graeme Smith. Sehwag has accumulated 8586 runs in Test cricket, while Smith has 9265 runs to hisಌ name.
The Western Australian went with the likes of Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli for the middle-order. While for the lower middle-order, Hussey picked one of world’s most exceptional all-rounders Jacques Kallis and former Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara.
Amongst fast 🌊bowlers, Hussey selected the Proteas duo of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel. He also went with England veteran James Anderson. Steyn bagged 439 wickets in the red-ball format while Morkel grabbed 309 scalps. Anderson, on the other hand, has taken 584 wickets in Tests which is the highest tally by any seamer.
When it comes to the spin department, Hussey picked one of the most excellent spinne❀rs, Muttiah Muralitharan. The Legendary offie has 800 wickets to his name in the longest format, which is the highest wicket count in the history of the game.
