The name of Hashim Amla has been synonymous with class๊ical strokeplay, marathon knocks and scoring daddy hundreds, double and even triple tons.
The South African number three in Test proved 𝓀to be difficult to dislodge for several bowling attacks all around the world.
However, one bowler from Pakistan managed to cause some🐟 trouble to the South African batting mainstay of the past.
During his interview iꦕn Peshawar Zalmis ‘Inside Out’ show, Amla revealed that Mohammad Asif was one of the toughest bowl𒐪ers he faced from Pakistan. Primarily due to Asif’s ability to seam the ball both ways.
“The best bowler I’ve ever faced is Mohammad Asif. His accurꦫacy was amazing. With the new ball, he moved it both ways and every ball felt like a question tha💖t could get you out. I found him to be an amazing bowler,” Amla commented recently.
Further, Amla registered✃ his admiration for the ex Pakistani cricke൲ting legends who brought laurels to their country.
“Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousaf, Wasim [Akram] and Waqar [Younis] were the guys I watched and thought, Wow! Look ꦓat these cricketers. It is brilliant to see guys like Wasim Akram and Mushtaq Ahmed now being involved with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) teams,” further added the recently retired cricketer.
Even though Aml❀a has never featured in the PSL, the South African veteran did his part in Pakistan’s bid for the restoration of ꦚinternational cricket in the country.
Amla was part of the World XI squad which toured Pakistan for a three-match T20I series in 2017, along with fellow Proteas stars Faf Du Plessis and David Miller.
“The bigg🌠est aspect is international cricket coming back to Pakistan and Pakistan has always had a major role in cricket, so it was brilliant to experience the wonderful country. It has been really nice to be here again and I hope that the PSL goes from strength to 🦂strength every year. All the foreign players have really enjoyed it,” concluded Amla.
