West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is a household name across the world. The Trinidadian cricketer is considered as one of the greatest T20 playersౠ of al✱l-time.
Bravo is often seen in different T20 leagues showcasing his magic and impressing his fans. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), ‘The Champion’, plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) led by MS Dhoni.
In a recent chat with CSK on Instagram, Bravo recalled a famous challenge held between him and Dhoni after CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2018 IPL final. After the mega clash, Dhoni and Bravo met themselves in a ‘three-run dash’ challenge. The contest was close but eventually won by Dhoni.
Recalling the sprinting, Br♈avo disclosed the story behind the challenge. He stated that MSD was teasing him 🉐about his age and speed throughout the 2018 season, and this gave birth to this unique challenge.
“He kept saying throughout the entire season that I am an old man; I am an old man. I am very slow. I told him, ‘I will challenge you in a sprint between the wickets’. He said ‘no chance’. I said ‘we will do it after the tournament is over’,” said Bravo.
Bravo revealed that he didn’t want the race in the middle of the tournament as it could give either of them a hamstring. The Caribbean player expressed that the race was very close, but Dhoni was extremely quick.
“I said ‘I don’t want to do it in the middle of the tournament and one of us pop our hamstrings’. We did it after the final. It was a very close race, very, very close. He beat me. It was a good race. He was very quick,” the 36-year-old added.
