Retired leg spinner Danish Kaneria recently got involved in a h🎶eated war of words with his former colleague 🔯Faisal Iqbal.
It all started with a video which went floating around on Twitter. In the clip, Brian Lara smashed Kaneria to all corners. Kaneria appears to sledge Lara after bowling a googly. “Well Played”, said the leggie to the Caribbean great.
Lara retaliated by smashing the ne🧜xt three deliveries for a maximum, finishing his onslaught with a boundary towards mid-wicket.
The instance took place during one of the Test matches of West Indies’ tour of Pakistan in 2006 at Multan. Lara struck a ferocious 216 in the match.
Iqbal retweeted the post by mocking the leg-spinner saying, “I still remember this match as a 12th man and was just watching the sixes going in the stands in his 200 double hundred… defiantly a dumb a** sledge by Kaneria to the king @BrianLara and then later Kaneria himself got scared.”

To which Kaneria replied, “Look who is talking about cricket. Please check your stats first. Also mention other matches that I have won. By the way, @BrianLara was a legendary cricketer. I respect him a lot.”

The duel took a nasty turn when Iqbal accused Kaneria of fixing matches and gaining fake sympathy. Earlier, Kaneria claimed that the selectors didn’t give him the nod due to his religion.
“Better than a FIXER and a LIAR stats who sold his soul for year’s in GREED and now trying to gain a FAKE sympathy by playing Religion card 24/7!! Proudly wore Pakistan on my chest and proud of my all-around stat at least they are CLEAN!!,” said Iqbal who played 26 Test matches for his country.

Kaneria retaliated by stating that he never sold his country for greed and sarcastically took a jibe at Iqbal for credentials at the high🌱est level.
