One of the most destructive cricketers in the world, Chris Lynn, turned🐭 30 on Friday (April 10, 2020). The explosive Australian is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the shortest format of the game.
Lynn has the ability to go the full monty as soon as he💖 begins his innings. The powerful-striker of the ball is a clean hitter and often seen thrashing the bowlers to all corners of the ground. With his extreme hitting, Lynn has made his image as one of the most feared batsmen in the modern game.
Apart from sending the balls into the stands, there is one more thing that Lynn can do, and it is , he can grab outstanding catches on the field. He has set the standards of fielding really high. His commitment to save every single run and claim a catch makes h༺im do wonders on the field.
At so many occasions, Lynn has overshadowed fellow cricketers just by his remarkable efforts on the cricket outfield. Since he is celebrating his birthday, let’s head into the past when Lynn took an unbelievable catch to dismiss batting genius AB de Villiers in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
On March 05 2015, Lynn took an absolute ꦐblinder to dismiss the brilliant Proteas batsman. It was the 11th match of the cash-rich league played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Chasing 151, RCB needed 9 in the last over with De Villiers and Albie Morkel on the crease. KKR’s skipper Gautam Gambhir handed over the responsibility to Vinay Kumar. In the first three balls, Vinay gave just three runs, which forced RCB batsmen to at least hit a boundary.
De Villiers, who was facing Vinay for the fourth delivery, smashed the slower good length ball towards deep mid-wicket. It was a good hit and looked like it would easily clear the boundary, but Lynn dived backwards and grabbed a screamer. The Brisbane-born was very close to the ropes but made sure he didn’t touch it.
Since De Villiers was gone, the pressure on RCB was full-on, and they succumb🍌ed eventually by losing the contest with just two runs.
Earlier, Lynn performed outstandingly well with the bat as he scored 45 off 31 balls with three sixes and as many fours. For his outstanding contribution, Lynn was honoured with the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
