A wicket-keeper needs to have sharp reflexes, especially when he is standing close to the wicket. With spinner on the attack, New Zealand’s Ben Horne exhibited tremendous reflex skills during a domestic game.
Representing Auckland in the ongoing Plunket Shield tournament – a domestic first-class cricket championship of New Zealand – Horne took an absolute stunner to dismiss Logan van Beek during the match played between Auckland Aces and We🍸llington Firebirds.
It all happened in the 120th over of Wellington’s first innings, when left-arm spinner Louis Delport bowled a straight delivery to Beek. In response, the right-handed batsman took charge and stepped on to the pitch to whack the ball towards the deep mid-wicket region, however, it ended up carrying a fast outside edge.
It looked like the ball would go straight into the hands of the fielder standing at first slip, but Horne had some other plans. 🔯The 26-ye🅷ar-old wicket-keeper stuck his glove as the ball crossed him to complete an unbelievable catch.
