Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress wife Anushka Sharma have pledged donations for the PM-CARES initiative and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. However, they didn’t disclose the amount.
Virat tweeted: “Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona.”

Both Kohli and Anushka have taken to social me🐼dia several times to spread the message of social distancing during these difficult times. Kohli joins a slew Indian cricketers, past and present, who have either made donations or pledged support to the relief funds.
On Sunday, India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane announced that he is donating Rs 10 lakh to battle coronavirus. Former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir too, have donated to battle the novel virus th🌌at has claimed 27 liveꦐs and resulted in over 1,000 cases in India as of Monday.
