Lungi Ngඣidi, with 6/58 and Janneman Malan with 129, took South Africa to register their 50th win against mighty Australia in One-Day Internationals (ODI). There have been 102 matches played between the two sides, and after beating Aussies at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Thursday, the Quinton de Kock-led side conquered 50th victory.

Chasing 272 in 300 balls, Africa had a❀ dreadful start as once again, Mitchell Starc got rid of De Kock early. But Malan and JJ Smuts stabilized the innings and added 91 runs before Adam Zampa sent Smuts back to the pavilion.

Soon after, Kyle Verreyne got out as well, but then came Heinrich Klaasen, who, along with Malan steadied the ship and built an 81-run partnership before Zampa again broke the run-stand and got Klaasen. 🐽Now Malan and David Miller paired up to make sure they take their side over the line as the duo added 90 runs to defeat Australia by 6 wickets. In the process, Malan scored a fantastic maiden hundred in ODIs.

Earlier, Aaron Finch and D Arcy Short shined to take their team to a competitive total of 271 in 50 overs. However, Ngidi ripped apart the Aussꦯie batting unit by grabbing six wi🍷ckets. Pacer Anrich Nortje claimed two, while Andile Phehlukwayo and Tabraiz Shamsi bagged one wicket each.

For their match-winning contributions, both Ngidi and Malan were facilitated by the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
