After a wait of seven long years, four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya rape case were hanged till death at the Tihar Jail at 5:30 AM on Friday💜 (March 20) in Delhi.
Four men – Mukesh Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Sharma (26), and Akshay Kumar Singh (31), were accused in the ghastly gang rape and murder of a physiotherapy intern, in a moving bus at the national capital.
﷽After seven years of trial and rejections of several mercy petitions filed by the fo🔴ur rapists, they were finally hanged.
Team India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan hailed the hanging and said that Nirbhaya could rest in peace now.
Dhawan took to Twitter and said: “Justice prevailed. RIP Nirbhaya #NirbhayaVerdict.”

Indian women’s team all-rounder Veda Krishnamurthy also expressed her thoughts. She called it a historic day for India. The right-arm spinner also added that justice has been served in the end.
