The second day of the ongoing final Test between New Zealand and India at Christchurch went in bowlers’ favor as they picked up as many as 16 wickets.
The Indian bowlers started the proceedings after they restricted the hosts for 235. Mohammad Shami claimed four wickets while Jasprit Bumrah took three. Spinner Ravindra Jadeja grabbed two wickets, ꧒🎃and pacer Umesh Yadav earned one scalp.
Tom Latham (52) was the highest scorer for New Zealand in their first innings. Kyle Jamieson, who bagged his career’s maiden five-wicket haul in India’s first innings, showed his batting skills and scored 49 runs – second best for the Kiwis.
In the second innings, India started terribly and lost their first wicket for just 8 in the form of Mayank Agarwal (3). The half-centurion in th🐻e first innings, Prithvi Shaw, failed to carry on the momentum and went for just 14.
India captain, Virat Kohli, who is having a poor tour of Ne🅷w Zealand, continued his rough patch and added just 16 runs in the se✃cond innings. At stumps, India reached 90-6 with Hanuma Vihari, and Rishabh Pant unbeaten for 5 and 1, respectively.
For the Black Caps, Trent Bo🍒ult produced a maximum of three wicke꧃ts, whereas the trio of Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Colin de Grandhomme earned one scalp each.
