Indian women’s team juggernaut remains unstoppable with their fourth consecutive win in the tournament. This time around, it was the Sri Lankan team🎃 who faced the wrath of India’s invin𓄧cibility by a margin of 7 wickets.
ꦡSri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu won the toss elected to bat first on a good batting track at Junction Oval in Melbourne. Followed by a meek start, the Lankan team found some solidity in the form of their captain’s knock of 33 off 24 deliveries.
However, the Lankans succumbed to relentless pressure from the Indian bowling attack. Wickets at regular intervals during the middle overs dampened Sri Lanka’s expectations o💧f a challenging total in front of the mighty Indian batting line-up.
Player of the match, Radha Yada🅷v starred for the Indian bowlers with her supreme spell of 4/23 in her four overs. India bullied the Lankans with their spin quartet.

Meanwhile, Rajeshwari Gaekwad was rewarded with a couple o🐠f wickets for her tight spell. Poonam Yadav, Deepti Sharma, and Shikha Pandey ended up with a꧒ wicket each as Sri Lanka limped to 113 for the loss of 9 wickets.
Coming out to bat, it was opener Shafali Verma yet again who stood tall with her array of strokes, compiling 47 off 34 deliveries, with seven boundarie⛦s and a maximum. She maintained her second place in the runs tally in the tournament without scoring a single half-century yet.
One of her shots in the match will be fondly remembered for a long time to come. Varma hit off-spinner Shashikala Siriwardene from behind her st✃umps from way outside the off-stump, towards fine-leg for a boundary.
