Simon Taufel answers the question regarding his current favorite international batsman and bowler in style

Simon Taufel is considered as one of the best umpires a cricket field has ever seen. He stood behind the wickets in many𓃲 memorable matches. In the year 2012, the 48-year-old bid goodbye to h🍬is job.

Simon won the ICC Umpire of the👍 year five times on the trot from 2004 to 2008. The Australia-born umpired in 74 Tests, 174 ODIs, and 34 T20Is.

In a recent interview, he encཧountered some questions regarding his journey, where he answered some interesting facts.

On ESPN🦩cricinfo, Simon was involved in a rapid-fire round. When he was asked about w🐎ho is his favorite cricketer, he answered the question in the best possible way an umpire can respond.

The anchor asked, “Name are your current favorite international batsman and bowler?”

One would expect Simon to take the names of players like Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, but no, Simon didn’t name any of them. In fact, Simon didn’t name any cricketer.

“I’ve no favorite batsman and no favorite bowlers,” said Simon.

Apart from the question mentioned above, the former umpire was also asked as who’s the most disciplined cricketer that he had come across in his umpiring career.

Simon took the name of the former Australian skippe🐟r Mark Waugh and former Indian cricketer Rahul 🐽Dravid.

When Simon was asked about the toughest g🌠ame he had to stand in, he said: India vs Pakistan, semi-final match of 2011 ODI World Cup.

After retirement, Simon turned into a writer and launched his book, which was titled ‘Finding the Gaps.’
