Another incident of Mankading took place in cricket, and quickly it became a red-hot topic. It all happened in the ongoing U19 World Cup match played between Afghanistan and Pakistan when an Afghani spinner Noor Ahmed dismissed Pakistan’s batsman Mohammad Huraira in the quarter-final contest held on Friday.

The dismissal led to a debate on social media platforms, where several fans expressed what they feel about the incident. Some supported the act while some questioned the authenticity of cricket rules regarding ‘Mankading’.

England pacer James Anderson also reacted on the trending topic and requested the International Cricket Council♕ (ICC) and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to remove t🐭he rule.

“Can we sort out (remove) this law please @ICC #MCC??” tweeted Anderson.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who himself did the similar stuff in the last season of Indian Premier League (IPL), took꧑ a cheeky dig at Anderson.

“Law removal might need some deliberation!! A Shredder might do the trick for now,” Ashwin tweeted along with multiple laughing emojis.

In the IPL 2019 season, Ashwin had dismissed England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler during a Kings XI Punjab vs. Rajasthan Royals match. Af💖ter that he was ꦬheavily criticized for the poor act of sportsmanship.

In his tweet, the off-spinner indicated towards🔜 the incident when Anderson had put an image of Ashwin through a shredder. The video uploaded by Anderson on social media went viral on the internet; however, the Chennai-born bowler had said that he was not bothered at all.

“Today, Jimmy Anderson might feel that whatever I did was wrong. Maybe, tomorrow he might end up doing (Mankading) it. Who knows, it is all a question of perception of right and wrong. I don’t think, in this case, it is necessary because it is within the law,” Ashwin had said.

Afghanistan su🉐ffered a six-wicket defeat to their neighbors in the match. Pakistan, who are now into the semis, will face their arch-rivals India on Tuesday (Feb 04) at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.
