India captain, Virat Kohli, afte⭕r his fourth straight loss during the ongoing New Zealand tour, cited out the reason for his lean patch in across all-format.
Kohli has not been able to talk with the bat in the year 2020. Since the start, the Indian skipper has been at the cusp of his 70th international ton, thereby equaling the record for the second-most international ♕tons with Ricky Ponting.
However, what evaded him from achieving the record is a lean patch in over 20 international outings. As soon as the statistics broke through all over the social media, the murmurs of VK suf♏fering a rough patch gained momentum.
The last time Koh𓆉li scored a ton, was in the Pink Test at Eden Gardens against Bangladesh in November 2019, where he scor🌜ed 136.
In the post-match discourse of India’s loss in the Wellington Test,🐷 one of the report꧟ers asked captain Kohli about his inability to achieve a three-figure score in the year 2020.
To which captain Kohli replied, “I’m absolutely fine, I’m batting well, Sometimes scores don’t reflect the way you are batting. That’s what happens when you don’t execute what you want to.”
Before the start of the New Zealand tour, Kohli took a subtle dig at the tight scheduling from the BCCI, which does not provide breathing space for theꦇ players.
“When you play so much cricket, and you play for so long, you will have 3-4 innings which do not go your way. If you make too much out of it, it will keep piling on. It’s about being in a good space. I know the chatter on the outside keeps changing with one bad inning,” added the skipper.
King Kohli’s outrageous record in converting starts into three-figure scores is primarily the reason for these murmurs gaining value. In the end, Kohli’s perennial purple patch since his horrid tour to England in 2014, made his fans addicted to his tons. Therefore, Kohli has only himself to blame for his brilliance.
